Our fees

We charge 2% of the booking price to the host and 12% of the booking price to the guest. We also charge 1-2% of the booking price for Community Givebacks to the guest.

Community Givebacks

Community Givebacks is our way to foster a more circular economy within the rental market here in the Machuca Valley.

It’s a small fee that both guests and Machuca Homes as a company pay that goes towards the local community HOA funds and to the wider communities that are a part of the Machuca Valley Community.

Our aim is to support social or ecological projects in the local area that helps our communities grow in a holistic manner.

Short term

Short-term rentals are up to 2 months (60 days).

Unlike other booking platforms, we consider discounts when calculating our fees. So in those cases, Machuca Homes could be up to 50% less (or even more) than other booking platforms (depending on the discount given).

Also, we display the full amount of the booking right in the search results so there are no surprises when getting to the checkout page.

Long term

Long-term rentals are 2 months (60 days) onward.

We only charge for the first two months of a reservation. After that the host can organize payments independently.

If the host wishes for rental payments to be handled by Machuca Homes they can hire the Easy Rental Payments service.

Easy Rental Payments

We offer Easy Rental Payments to take the stress away from chasing payments. Another bonus of opting in is Machuca Homes can hold tenant deposits beyond the standard two month reservation duration.

You can opt in for Easy Rental Payments when creating or editing your listing, as well as during the time of a reservation.

If you opt in, Machuca Homes will send out payment reminders for the rent to the guest, one week before rent is due.
